Getting Started

Welcome to Yngel

Yngel is a guided statistical analysis tool for quality professionals, process engineers and Six Sigma Green Belts who need to understand process data and decide what to investigate next.

It supports users who understand their process and the question they want to answer, while providing clear guidance through the statistical workflow.

How Yngel supports an analysis

A Standalone Analysis follows a consistent sequence:

  1. Upload and prepare a dataset.
  2. Assign a role to each relevant column.
  3. Review the observations that are valid for analysis.
  4. Explore the data through statistics and visualisations.
  5. Assess differences, stability and process capability.
  6. Translate the findings into practical next steps.

Yngel supports continuous measurement data and binomial process results, such as passed and failed quantities.

Interpreting results responsibly

Where the available information permits it, Yngel selects the appropriate method and explains the result in practical language.

Every result still belongs to a wider engineering assessment. Consider:

  • how and why the data were collected;
  • whether the sample represents the process;
  • measurement-system reliability;
  • process knowledge and operating conditions;
  • the practical size of the observed effect;
  • safety, customer and regulatory requirements.

A statistically convincing result may still have little practical importance. A statistically inconclusive result may indicate that more or better data are needed.

Use Yngel to identify evidence, patterns and sensible next questions. The final decision remains an engineering responsibility.

Your data

Yngel extracts the tabular content required for the analysis and stores it as a private dataset associated with your account. The original Excel or CSV file is not retained.

You can export or permanently delete any stored dataset. Deleting your account also deletes every dataset associated with it.

Business data may remain sensitive even after obvious identifiers have been removed. Anonymise the dataset wherever possible, and upload only the columns required for the analysis. Personal data, confidential identifiers and unrelated sensitive information should be removed before upload.

Getting started

Begin with a small dataset from a process you already understand. Familiar data make it easier to examine how Yngel handles the workflow and to compare the output with your own expectations.

Open Standalone Analysis, upload an Excel or CSV dataset, and assign the relevant column roles. Yngel will validate the rows and make the applicable analysis pages available.
